PLUS goes Platinum (Press Release)

Celebrations were in the air this weekend as members of Barking & Dagenham Plus joined with their counterparts from across the country in Wellingborough, Northants. The occasion: to mark the Platinum (70^th) Anniversary of PLUS – formerly known as “Eighteen Plus.”

The Saturday evening was dominated by a magnificent party at the Hind Hotel, featuring live entertainment from former X-Factor contestants “Two 2 Go.” Earlier in the day PLUS had also held its National AGM at the same venue.

Barking & Dagenham Plus’ chair, Gemma Crader, 21, said:

“Eighteen Plus was founded as a social organisation for young adults, and we’re still going strong after seventy years! I had a great time meeting up with friends from all over England. I’m also looking forward to more events like this throughout the rest of the year.”
