In 2014 The National Federation of Plus Areas offers an opportunity to its members to be surprised by a land of drama. Previous Anglesey Walking Weekends were praised by participants for the organisation and facilities and we are once again pleased to announce the organisation of the Anglesey Walking Weekend. This provides an excellent opportunity to explore Anglesey and North Wales.
Accommodation is a bunkhouse with full board in a coastal part of Anglesey near Holyhead. This provides an excellent base to explore the countryside around North Wales.
A number of breathtaking rambles are planned, giving the opportunity to explore the Isle. The terrain and weather is varied so please bring walking boots and clothing layers to cope with a rainy summer.

B&D Plus honoured at the Area AGM 2014
Today Anglia & South East Area Plus had its 2014 Annual General Meeting. Joe Gurney won the “Andy Pitkin Trophy” for his service to the Area.

Whilst Barking & Dagenham Plus as a whole jointly-won the Terry Davis Memorial Trophy for their Charity work.
Our chair, Gemma Crader (r) with Trevor Eley of Redbridge – the other joint winners of the Charity Trophy.
In a separate development, Gemma will now be serving on the Area Committee as Activities Officer, and Joe has been elected as the Area’s Honorary Advisory Member.
New Year, New Programme
Happy New Year! Barking & Dagenham Plus has updated its programme of events. In the next three months we will have the National Karting in Reading, the RGT (“Roy Gordon Trophy”) Pool Tournament in Romford, as well as the National AGM and “Publicising and Marketing Plus” event in Walsall.
Also, please note that the popular national holiday Brean is returning for 2014. Everyone who books by 22nd February can get it at £5 off the full rate (£75 instead of £80).

Programme of Events updated yet again
Saturday 24th November the Area Bowling Tournament will be at NAMCO Romford (in The Brewery), not at Dagenham Bowl as previously mentioned.
We now have a date for the RGT (“Roy Gordon Trophy”) Pool Tournament – Sunday 2nd February 2014. More details as we get it.
Also the Area AGM will be Sunday 26th January 2014, and the National AGM will be on Saturday 22nd February 2014. For full details see our Events page.

Hi all
Only 22 days to WASH!!!!
With the pledges we have and bookings already in we are only 3 short of last year! If you are thinking it’s too late to book – IT ISN’T
Sunday daytime is now confirmed. Sunday is Remembrance Day and anyone who wishes to join us at the short service at the memorial in Hunstanton is very welcome.
Upon our return from paying our respects, don your leggings and baggy T-shirts for a spot of Fitness Yoga. Don’t ask me what this entails, but I am told it won’t kill us!
Once first aid and oxygen has been administered, there will be the WASH Quiz, produced and hosted by the Manor Park Entertainments Team

Only 36 days to go to WASH 30. Come and join the spectacular weekend we have planned
We had a meeting at Manor Park last night and were amazed to see that beer prices are DOWN!!! They are also doing loads of 2 for 1 meal deals and a rather rather cheeky burger and a pint for £5.50.
The themes are: T-shirts with slogans on Friday night, posh frocks and suited and booted for the casino on Saturday afternoon and 80’s for Saturday night.
Numbers are amazing this year and we may well ve up on the last 2 years. With the extra bodies we are ;looking at booking an extra act for Saturday evening.
Never too late to book – we have taken bookings on the night before!
