A press release which is barely distinguishable from the truth!

Last week saw members of Thurrock Plus Group (formerly Thurrock 18 Plus Group) join members from all over the country from the National Federation of PLUS groups, and go to the Annual live entertainment weekend in Hunstanton Norfolk (called WASH). They had 3 nights of live entertainment with a Club DJ and live bands every night, with a quiz, laser clay shooting, a firework display, a comedy club night with professional comedians, cinema and use of the sauna, swimming pool and massage facilities. A great time was had by all and bookings are being taken for the next live entertainment weekend at Brean in March.

The previous week Thurrock Members joined Barkingsides members for a trip to the Ice Skating rink and a meal at a Turkish restaurant. On Thursday they went bowling, with Club Secretary Joe continuing his recent seemingly invincible form that won him the Area competition, by winning at his local club as well.

Upcoming events in the East Anglia Area and nationally will be; Barking and Dagenhams charity talent night “the Plus factor”, Thurrock and Barkingside’s Christmas meal, a trip to “the Venue” in New Cross, Area Dogs night, Redbridge’s Charity Quiz, Christmas Shopping in London, the National Ski-ing holiday, the Entertainment weekend in Brean 2007 and a planned trip to Centre Parks early next year.

Thurrock Plus is a lively and friendly sports and social organisation for people in the 18 to 35 age range; it is run completely by its members and offers a wide-ranging programme of regular events, often in conjunction with other groups in East Anglia Area.
