Canvey Crawl

Yours truly was traipsing around Canvey Island today with a load of members of Barking & Dagenham Plus, helping to raise money for Macmillan Nurses via a sponsored walk. This was in memory of Adrian Pembroke RIP, who was until his untimely death from cancer a B&D member. The event was very successful as the twenty or so participants between them raised over £900 in sponsorship.

I was unique amongst the participants in that from my sponsorship form, I appear to have been sponsored by two individuals named S Doo and M Mouse, who sponsored me 20 Scooby Snacks and 12 Cheese slices respectively. Fortunately, I am grateful to all the real sponsors who generously pledged actual money as well.

In the evening the other members of Thurrock Plus joined me as I was resting my weary legs at the Peter Boat in Leigh on Sea.
