Treasure Hunt
Braving engineering works on the C2C lines into London, and a tube driver “requiring assistance” (probably means he nipped off to the toilet thus holding up the trains behind his – including the one I was on), members of Thurrock converged in our nation’s capital today for the National Treasure Hunt.
We met up with over 35 plussers from all over the country, at the Tattershall Castle near Embankment Tube Station. The Treasure Hunt was meant to be themed on “The Da Vinci Code”, although reading the book beforehand turned out not to be a help. The route took us along the South Bank to the Tate Modern, back over the river to the St Paul’s area, and thence to the Temple Church – which was closed to tourists at that point in the evening. A number of Plussers who had WAP phones were thus forced to answer the final questions by looking them up on Google!
Your Humble Blogmaster was part of a team that came fourth – not the worst of the day, but unfortunately not good enough to get a cash prize! 😦
