WASH 2011 Newsletter
(Courtesy of Paul Catterwell of Kings Lynn Plus)

For those who aren’t already aware, WASH 2011 will take place at Manor Park, again, and we have been able to hold last year’s prices. Manor Park have made some changes and improvements to the venue, the accommodation, and to the site in general which we are sure will be appreciated particularly by those who stayed in the “Tudor” area last year, where there is now gravel road through the middle. We will do our best to allocate vans next to this where possible. We have been steadily receiving deposits and pledges, and are well on the way to finalising the entertainment programme for the weekend with some great bands, and daytime entertainment, with an old favourite being given a new twist and a new activity to WASH for you to enjoy in the form of the inaugural WASH Boat Race! After an absence of many years, “Friday Rock Night” makes a return by popular demand, and as Zumba becomes more and more popular omongst Plus members, you saw it first at Brean, but we show you how we do it around here…..
As a reminder of the prices….
| Gold/Silver Caravan: £66.95pp Bronze Caravan: £61.95pp Chalet: £61.95pp Sofabed places: £37.50pp See booking forms for full details of prices |
For those who enjoy the “themes” we have each year, we have two easy to do ideas for this year – after the tremendously bright success of “neon night” last year, we will be revisiting this on the Sunday night, so go with the glo! On Saturday, as the saying goes……if you want to get ahead GET A HAT…and of course you are welcome to match your outfit to your headgear should you so wish!

Weekend events
A quick update to our programme: we will be going out for a meal at Frankie & Benny’s in Romford on Saturday 17th September, not the 10th as previously advertised. Please see our Events page for more details.
Getting Active With Barking & Dagenham Plus
“Barking & Dagenham Plus” has now published its programme of events for August to December 2011. We are supporting three good causes: “Haven House” “Hopefield Animal Sanctuary” and Cancer Research. We will also be organising and participating in a load of other fun events such as “WASH” a National Holiday in Hunstanton, Norfolk; as well as Bowling, Karaoke and a Christmas Meal.
See our Events page for further details.
B&D Club night Tuesday 9th August ’11 cancelled
We have been advised that our venue, The White Horse Pub in Chadwell Heath, is closed this evening due to the trouble in London. Our club night will therefore not be taking place this week.
We will, however, be meeting next Tuesday (16th August) UNLESS YOU HEAR FROM US TO THE CONTRARY. Please watch this space for more details.
Programme updated
Some amendments to our programme: on Tuesday 9th the evening will be run by Paul; on Sunday 14th we will be attending an open day at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary; and on Sunday 21st there is some sort of Vegan festival. For full details please see our Events page.
New programme of events
You can now view our programme of events for August to October 2011. In the next three months we will be going on our Annual Charity Walk, this year in aid of Haven House. We will also be going to Stevenage Plus’ “Back To Skool” Disco; North Thames & Chiltern Area’s Pink Party, and the Anglia & South East Area Hallowe’en Disco.
More events will be added to the programme in due course (probably after the committee meeting on the 11th August). For full details, please see our Events page or click the link above.
Programme updated
A few minor changes have been made to our current programme of events. The Antenatal Baby Shower for Gemma which was to have been held on Saturday 9th July has had to be cancelled. The Poker Night has been postponed until a future occasion. Also, some of the other nights have been swapped around. Actually they were swapped around a long time ago, but some people were reading from an old announcement sheet! For full details please see our Events page.
