Sporting Success with Thurrock Plus

Thurrock Plus were celebrating a major sporting victory last weekend at the Area Badminton Tournament, which was held in Dagenham. Thurrock member Joe Gurney was – along with partner Trevor Eley – winner of the Doubles Championship. The Badminton Tournament was organised by East Anglia Area Plus, Thurrock Plus’ parent organisation, and had participants from Plus clubs from all over Essex, East London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

Badminton is just one of the sporting tournaments organised by Plus throughout the year: others include Tennis, Football, Go-Karting, Ten-Pin Bowling and Pool, amongst others. Said Joe, after his victory: “It was great to see so many take part today, both male and female, from all over the Area. Next I am looking forward to the Tennis which is next month – as well as Paintball in the near future.”
