Adding Up to A Fun Time (Press Release)
Dusted out from the archives, here are a number of press releases which date back to when Thurrock 18 Plus was still a new club. They were all written by Gary Dunnings, former PRO of both Thurrock and Barking & Dagenham. Thanks to Iain Parkes for digging them out.
If you’re aged 18 to 30 and fed up with the usual round of pubs and nightspots, then a new club being launched in Grays could be what you’re looking for. Eighteen Plus, a national organisation, says its Thurrock branch will offer a lively and varied boost to members’ social lives.
The programme includes everything from parties to sports and theatre trips to weekend breaks.
Eighteen Plus is rare, being one of the few organisations of its type to be non-commercial and independent.
“In this way, prices are kept to a minimum,” says the Thurrock branch’s development chairman, Kim Smith.
Sport
“If you happen to be a fanatic in some sport or pastime, it’s not difficult to join a club specialising in that sort of thing. But if you just want to meet people and enjoy their company, it can be difficult to know where to look.
“Eighteen Plus aims to provide an answer, providing an enormous variety of activities as well.”
Thurrock 18 Plus opens at 8pm on Friday, May 4, at Grays Adult Education Centre in Bridge Road. It will continue there every Friday from 8pm to 10pm.
An invitation is extended to anyone aged 18 to 30. The first night is free.
